The invitation from the master is to “come away”. The calling into the place of trial. It could be a trial by fire, the warrior’s path, or the path of patience where we learn to be a tent maker or a shepherd aside from our royal calling. Whatever it may be, the path of discipline, of shaping and molding is dreamt about and put on a pedestal, but it is rarely brought down, dusted off, and indulged.

Two paths are presented and we claim to look to the one less traveled, but do we take the first step onto it, or do we just think about it with hope and longing?

This is the Furnace, the path not worn, but presented as is. Rocky, narrow, and untamed. A path of discomfort and trial, but the only true way to find our goal. It is here, waiting for you, beckoning and calling to draw you from the normal. This path is recommended and desired, but rarely traveled.
